How to Send Flowers to Daegu From Abroad

How do I send flowers to Daegu from abroad?

To send flowers to Daegu from abroad, choose an arrangement on the Korea Flower Express website, enter your recipient's Daegu address and mobile number, and pay online. A florist near your recipient makes the arrangement with that day's flowers and delivers it by hand, so nothing is shipped across borders. Orders placed before 6 PM Korea time are usually delivered the same day.

This guide is about Daegu's place names and address pitfalls. The whole ordering process is in How to Send Flowers to Korea From Abroad, and a guide for the capital is at How to Send Flowers to Seoul From Abroad.

How is Daegu divided into districts and counties?

Daegu Metropolitan City has 7 districts (gu) and 2 counties (gun). Daegu is an inland city in the southeast of the country. A Daegu address reads like Daegu, ○○-gu, ○○-ro 123, with the district between the city name and the road name. If the address you were given has no district or county, ask your recipient before ordering.

Many people abroad only know a Daegu address from a message or a business card, and it often lacks the district. Asking for the road address in Korean (도로명 주소) and pasting it exactly saves a round of questions later.

Which names are easy to confuse with Daegu?

Start every address with Daegu (대구광역시 in Korean). Jung-gu, Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu and Buk-gu also exist in other metropolitan cities such as Busan, so a district name alone can point to the wrong city. Dalseo-gu and Suseong-gu exist only in Daegu, but Dalseo-gu (a district) and Dalseong-gun (a county) differ by one letter in English, so copy the exact spelling your recipient gave you.

Gyeongsan, Goryeong, Cheongdo and Yeongcheon sit next to Daegu but belong to North Gyeongsang Province, and their addresses start with 경상북도. The Chilgok area of Daegu is in Buk-gu, while Chilgok-gun is a separate county in North Gyeongsang. Gunwi-gun joined Daegu on 1 July 2023, so an older address may read 경상북도 군위군 where a current one reads 대구광역시 군위군; ask your recipient which one is on their mail today. For the detail line, see How to Write a Korean Address for Flower Delivery.

Which district are Dongseongno, Suseongmot and Seongseo in?

Dongseongno and Seomun Market are in Jung-gu, Suseongmot is in Suseong-gu, and Seongseo is in Dalseo-gu, so a neighborhood name is not always the district name. If your recipient only says they live near Dongseongno, ask for the road address, because the order form needs the district and road name. The table is only a location guide.

What is the order cut-off for flowers going to Daegu?

Korea uses a single time zone, nine hours ahead of UTC, so Daegu has the same clock as Seoul. The Korea Flower Express cut-off is counted in Korea time, not yours: order before 6 PM Korea time and most Daegu addresses receive the flowers the same day. When it is 18:00 in Korea it is 09:00 UTC, 18:00 in Tokyo and 17:00 in Beijing.

The cut-off and opening hours are the same every day, including Christmas and New Year's Day, and our team is available from 08:00 to 21:00 Korea time. Countries with daylight saving time shift the conversion twice a year; see Same-Day Flower Order Cutoff in Your Local Time for a table by season.

How much does it cost to send flowers to Daegu?

At Korea Flower Express, flower baskets start from about ₩45,000, bouquets from about ₩45,000, and congratulatory and funeral flower stands range from about ₩49,000 to ₩199,000 (Korean won, checked in October 2026). A higher grade or an added gift raises the total, and the final amount is shown before you pay.

Dalseong-gun, Gunwi-gun and parts of Dong-gu are on the list and can carry about ₩10,000 more, while baskets and bouquets carry no such fee. If your stand is going to one of those areas, send us the address in chat and we will check. A full price breakdown is in How Much Does It Cost to Send Flowers to Korea?.

See PayPal or Foreign Card for Flowers to Korea? for the differences and for what to do if a payment fails.

How do I know the flowers arrived in Daegu?

A Daegu order is handled like any other in Korea: a florist near your recipient makes the arrangement and hands it over. When delivery is complete we send you a photo of what your recipient received. If nobody is home, the flowers are left at the entrance and we send a photo taken on site; Will You Get a Photo When Flowers Are Delivered in Korea? explains the photo in detail.

A card message can be printed in a foreign language, mostly English, and a line in Korean is a nice extra. Please enter your recipient's mobile number correctly, since we may need to reach them. For a hospital, ask first, because some hospitals and postnatal care centers do not accept flowers.
