How to Send Flowers to Seoul From Abroad

By Korea Flower ExpressPublished

Quick answer

To send flowers to Seoul from abroad, choose an arrangement on the Korea Flower Express website, enter your recipient's Seoul address and mobile number, and pay online. Order before 6 PM Korea time and most gifts are made by a florist near your recipient and hand-delivered the same day.

Key points

  • You order online and a florist near your recipient makes the arrangement and delivers it in person.
  • Orders before 6 PM Korea time usually arrive the same day; that is 18:00 in Tokyo, 17:00 in Beijing and 16:00 in Hanoi.
  • Seoul has 25 districts. Gangseo-gu and Jung-gu also exist in other cities, so always include Seoul in the address.
  • Flower baskets and bouquets start from about ₩45,000, congratulatory flower stands from about ₩49,000.
  • You get a photo once the flowers are delivered; if nobody is home, they are left at the entrance and we send a photo.

How do I send flowers to someone in Seoul from overseas?

To send flowers to Seoul from overseas, choose an arrangement on the Korea Flower Express website, enter your recipient's Seoul address and mobile number, and pay online. A florist near your recipient makes the arrangement with that day's flowers and delivers it by hand, so nothing is shipped across borders. Orders placed before 6 PM Korea time are usually delivered the same day.

People often send flowers when a birthday, an anniversary, a hospital stay, a wedding or a friend's new business comes up and they can't be in Seoul themselves. The full ordering process is explained in How to Send Flowers to Korea From Abroad.

  • Choose an arrangement (basket, bouquet, flower stand and so on).
  • Enter your recipient's name, mobile number, Seoul address and delivery date.
  • Write your card message or ribbon wording.
  • Pay, then check the delivery photo once it arrives.

How is Seoul divided into districts?

Seoul is divided into 25 districts, each ending in -gu. The Han River runs through the city, with 14 districts to the north (often called Gangbuk) and 11 to the south (Gangnam in the broad sense). A Seoul address reads like Seoul, ○○-gu, ○○-ro 123: the district comes before the road name and building number. If the district is missing from the address you were given, check it with your recipient first.

AreaDistricts
North of the Han (14)Jongno-gu, Jung-gu, Yongsan-gu, Seongdong-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Jungnang-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Dobong-gu, Nowon-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Mapo-gu
South of the Han (11)Gangseo-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Guro-gu, Geumcheon-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Dongjak-gu, Gwanak-gu, Seocho-gu, Gangnam-gu, Songpa-gu, Gangdong-gu

What should I watch for when writing a Seoul address?

Always start a Seoul address with Seoul (서울특별시 in Korean). Gangseo-gu exists in both Seoul and Busan, and Jung-gu exists in Seoul, Busan, Daegu and several other cities, so a district name alone can point to the wrong city. Cities right next to Seoul, such as Seongnam, Goyang and Bucheon, are in Gyeonggi-do, not Seoul. If your recipient simply says they live near Seoul, confirm the exact city and province.

Seoul is full of apartment complexes and office towers, so the detailed address line matters. On the Korea Flower Express order form, add the building and unit for an apartment, or the floor, unit and company name for an office. For other places, see How to Write a Korean Address for Flower Delivery. Some hospitals and postnatal care centers do not accept flowers, so check with your recipient or the facility before ordering and let our team know.

What is the cut-off for same-day delivery in Seoul?

The Korea Flower Express cut-off follows Korea time, not yours: order before 6 PM Korea time and most Seoul addresses receive the flowers the same day. Korea does not use daylight saving time, so it is always nine hours ahead of UTC. That same cut-off falls at 18:00 in Tokyo, 17:00 in Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore, and 16:00 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The cut-off and opening hours are the same every day of the year, including Christmas and New Year's Day. Our team is available from 08:00 to 21:00 Korea time, and after the cut-off you can still order for the next day or later. For the US, Europe and other places with daylight saving time, see the table in Same-Day Flower Delivery in Korea: Cutoff by Time Zone.

Which flowers suit which occasion in Seoul?

In Korea, people usually send a flower basket for birthdays, thanks and get-well wishes, a bouquet for anniversaries, proposals and graduations, and a congratulatory flower stand for openings, weddings and events. Seoul follows the same customs. Flower stands or potted plants are also sent to congratulate a new office or an office move. For a funeral, a funeral flower stand is sent to the funeral hall.

With Korea Flower Express you can add a cake or chocolates to the flowers and have them delivered together on the same day. To choose a flower stand, read Congratulatory Flower Stands in Korea Explained and Sending Funeral Flowers to Korea From Abroad.

How much does it cost to send flowers to Seoul?

At Korea Flower Express, flower baskets and bouquets (excluding corsages) start from about ₩45,000, and congratulatory and funeral flower stands range from about ₩49,000 to ₩199,000 (Korean won, checked in October 2026). A larger size or an added gift raises the total, and the final amount is shown on the payment screen before you pay.

Seoul addresses are not on the list of areas with an extra regional delivery fee for flower stands. Some nearby areas in Gyeonggi-do, such as Yangpyeong and Gapyeong, are on the list; if you enter one of those addresses, the order form shows the notice and the amount straight away. For a full price breakdown, see How Much Does It Cost to Send Flowers to Korea?.

How do I pay from abroad?

On the Korea Flower Express order form in English, Japanese, Chinese or Vietnamese, the default is Overseas payment (KRW), a payment in Korean won by international card. You can also choose PayPal, which charges US dollars at the day's exchange rate plus a 5% fee. The Korean-language order form offers Korean payment methods: virtual account, credit card, manual card entry, KakaoPay and Naver Pay. Your card issuer may add its own foreign transaction fee.

How will I know my recipient got the flowers?

When delivery is complete, Korea Flower Express sends you a photo of the arrangement your recipient received, so you can check from abroad without making a call. If nobody is there, the flowers are left at the entrance and we send you a photo taken on site. Please enter your recipient's mobile number correctly.

Card messages can be printed in other languages, so you can write yours in English. If your recipient reads Korean, adding one line in Korean is a warm touch. For ribbon wording on flower stands, see Korean Wreath Ribbon Messages: Phrases and Sender Names.
