Can't Attend a Wedding in Korea? How to Send Flowers
Quick answer
If you cannot attend a wedding in Korea, you can send a congratulatory flower stand to the venue, or a basket or bouquet to the couple, through Korea Flower Express. Give the venue, hall name and ceremony time, add a ribbon phrase such as 祝結婚 and your name, and a florist near the venue prepares it.
Key points
- There are two routes: a congratulatory stand to the wedding hall (₩49,000 for 3 tiers up to ₩199,000 for 5 tiers) or a basket or bouquet to the couple (from ₩45,000), with site prices checked in November 2026.
- For a stand, enter the venue name, floor, hall name and ceremony time, and choose the ceremony time rule.
- Seen from the front, the right ribbon carries a phrase such as 祝結婚 and the left ribbon carries your name, written in Hangul by sound.
- Some venues limit or refuse stands, so ask the host or the couple first if you can. A basket or bouquet is the alternative.
- In general Korean custom, many guests give a cash gift and flowers are an added gesture.
- After delivery we send you a photo of what was actually delivered.
Can I send flowers to a wedding in Korea if I cannot attend?
Yes. Korea Flower Express takes orders from overseas, and a florist near the venue or the recipient makes the arrangement and hands it over in person. For a wedding you cannot attend, there are two usual choices: a congratulatory flower stand delivered to the wedding hall, or a flower basket or bouquet delivered to the couple.
In general Korean custom, many guests give a cash gift at the wedding, and flowers are an extra way to show you are thinking of the couple. That is a general custom, not a rule of ours. The full ordering process is in How to Send Flowers to Korea From Abroad. The sections below cover what is specific to a wedding.
| Option | Delivered to | Price from (site prices, November 2026) | Your message |
|---|---|---|---|
| Congratulatory flower stand | The wedding hall | ₩49,000 (3 tiers) to ₩199,000 (5 tiers) | Ribbon phrase and your name |
| Flower basket | The couple's address | About ₩45,000 | Card message |
| Bouquet | The couple's address | About ₩45,000 | Card message |
Should I send a flower stand or a basket?
A stand at the venue stays in view of the guests and carries your name on the ribbon, which is why stands are a common congratulatory gift at Korean weddings. A basket or bouquet is more personal: it goes to the couple's address with a card in your own words. Choose by your relationship with the couple and your budget; there is no fixed rule.
For a wedding choose congratulatory items and never funeral ones. White chrysanthemums are generally known as funeral flowers in Korea, so it is better to avoid them. More on etiquette is in Korean Flower Gift Etiquette: Dos and Don'ts. You can choose stands under Congratulatory Flower Stands, baskets under Flower Baskets and bouquets under Bouquets.
What do I need to enter so a stand reaches the wedding on time?
To have a stand from Korea Flower Express in place before the ceremony, enter the venue name, the floor and the hall name. In a building with several halls, a missing hall name can delay confirmation. Then enter the ceremony time and choose the ceremony option as the time rule, so the order reads before the ceremony at that time, in Korea time.
The form also asks for the recipient's name and mobile number, so ask the couple or their family whose name to use. An order placed before 6 PM Korea time usually goes out the same day, but for a wedding it is better to order a few days ahead. If timing is tight for the area or the item, we contact you to confirm, and we do not promise a particular minute.
- Venue name, floor and hall name
- Ceremony date and time, in Korea time
- Recipient's name and mobile number
- Ribbon phrase and sender name
What should the ribbon say, and how do I write my name?
A stand carries two ribbons. Seen from the front, the right ribbon carries the ceremonial phrase and the left ribbon carries the sender. In the ribbon message field of the order form, write one of 祝結婚 (chuk-gyeol-hon), 祝華婚 (chuk-hwa-hon) or 결혼을 축하드립니다 exactly as shown (copy and paste it). The couple's family will read the sender in Korean, so write your name in Hangul by sound, for example 존 스미스 for John Smith.
| Phrase | Meaning | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 祝結婚 (축결혼) | Congratulations on the marriage. | The most direct phrase; copy and paste it into the ribbon message field. |
| 祝華婚 (축화혼) | Congratulations on a splendid wedding. | Also commonly used; copy and paste it into the ribbon message field. |
| 결혼을 축하드립니다 | Congratulations on your marriage, written out in Hangul. | A good pick if Chinese characters feel unfamiliar. |
Will the wedding hall accept a flower stand?
We cannot tell you the rules of each wedding hall. Some venues limit the number of stands, the delivery time, or whether stands are brought in at all, and when many guests send stands to one wedding the host may limit the number. If you can, ask the couple or their family before ordering. If a stand is not possible, a basket or bouquet to the couple's address is the alternative.

How do I send flowers to the couple instead?
Choose a basket or bouquet, then enter the couple's names, mobile number, Korean address with building name and unit number, and the delivery date. Newlyweds may be on their honeymoon, so ask when they will be home. The card can be printed in a foreign language, mostly English, and one Korean line makes it warmer.
| Korean line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 결혼 진심으로 축하드려요. 행복하게 오래오래 사세요. | Warmest congratulations on your marriage. May you be happy together for a long time. |
| 두 분의 앞날을 응원합니다. | I am cheering for your future together. |
| 함께하지 못해 아쉽지만 마음은 늘 곁에 있어요. | I am sorry I cannot be there, but my heart is with you. |
How do I pay, and how do I know it was delivered?
On the foreign-language order form you can pay by international card in Korean won or by PayPal. PayPal is charged in US dollars at the day's rate with a 5% fee, and the final amount is the one shown on the payment screen. The differences are in PayPal or Foreign Card for Flowers to Korea?. After delivery we email you a photo of what was actually delivered, and the order status is explained in How to Track Your Flower Order to Korea.
Cancelling before we start making the arrangement is refunded in full, but once making has started, cancellation and refunds are difficult. If you need to change something, message us in chat right after ordering.
