What is the same-day cutoff for flower delivery in Korea?

At Korea Flower Express, order before 6 PM Korea time (KST) and most gifts arrive the same day. Phone support runs from 08:00 to 21:00 Korea time, while the website accepts orders at any hour. Other florists in Korea may set a different cutoff.

Korea Flower Express delivers anywhere in South Korea. A florist near your recipient makes the arrangement that day and hands it over in person, so nothing is flown in from overseas and there is no international shipping time to add.

"Most" is a careful word. Depending on the area, the item and the time of day, same day can be difficult. When that happens we do not decide quietly on our own; we contact you to confirm. We do not guarantee same-day arrival.

What is the cutoff in my local time?

The same-day cutoff at Korea Flower Express is 6 PM Korea time (18:00 KST). Korea is UTC+9 all year with no daylight saving. In local time that is 04:00 in New York in winter and 05:00 in summer, 09:00 or 10:00 in London, 18:00 in Tokyo, 17:00 in Beijing and 19:00 or 20:00 in Sydney. The table below covers more places. If the cutoff ever changes, keep the last column and add or subtract the gap yourself.

The US and Europe move their clocks forward from spring to autumn, while eastern Australia does the opposite, from early October to early April. That is why the table has two columns, standard time and daylight saving time. The calendar date is the same as Korea's in every row.

How do I work out the time difference myself?

To turn the Korea Flower Express cutoff (18:00 Korea time) into your time, subtract the gap from Korea time if you are behind Korea; to turn your time into Korea time, add the gap (for places ahead of Korea, such as Sydney, do the opposite). For example, 20:00 on a Tuesday in New York in winter (14 hours behind Korea) is 10:00 on Wednesday in Korea, which is before the 6 PM cutoff. Checking it both ways takes a minute and avoids missing the cutoff.

• Look up your city's UTC offset, for example New York is UTC-5 in winter and UTC-4 in summer.
• Convert the cutoff to UTC: 18:00 Korea time minus 9 hours is 09:00 UTC.
• Add your offset to 09:00 UTC. New York in winter: 09:00 - 5 = 04:00. In summer: 09:00 - 4 = 05:00.
• Check it backwards: 04:00 in New York in winter plus 14 hours is 18:00 in Korea, so the result holds.
• Watch the date. If it is 8 PM on Tuesday in New York in winter, it is already 10 AM on Wednesday in Korea.

How do I place a same-day order from abroad?

To place a same-day order from abroad at Korea Flower Express, order before 6 PM Korea time; the steps are below. A wrong phone number for the recipient can delay delivery, so check it once more before you pay. Support is available from 08:00 to 21:00 Korea time.

• Choose a gift and pick a size. Baskets and bouquets are under Flower Baskets and Bouquets.
• Enter the recipient's Korean address and phone number. Once the address is in, the order form shows any extra delivery fee.
• Set the delivery date and time. For weddings, funerals or events, also choose the time rule (by, event, ceremony, arrival). "2 PM" means different things to a driver.
• Write the card message, or the ribbon text for wreaths. See Korean Wreath Ribbon Messages: Phrases and Sender Names for ribbon wording.
• Pay by overseas card (shown as "Overseas payment (KRW)") or by PayPal (US dollars, incl. 5% fee). PayPal uses the day's exchange rate plus a 5% fee. The final amount is the one shown on the payment screen.

When is same-day delivery difficult?

At Korea Flower Express, same day can be difficult if you order after 6 PM Korea time, send to an island or remote area, ask for an early arrival the same morning, set an exact time such as a ceremony but order late, or give a recipient number that cannot be reached. In those cases we contact you to confirm and agree on another time or date with you.

• You order after 6 PM Korea time.
• The address is on an island or in a remote area, where an extra delivery fee can also apply.
• The requested arrival is very early in the day or the time window is tight.
• A ceremony time is fixed, such as a wedding or a funeral procession, and the order comes late.
• The recipient's phone number is wrong or nobody answers.

What if I miss the cutoff?

At Korea Flower Express you can still order after the 6 PM Korea time cutoff. Set the delivery date to the next day. If it is urgent, ask in chat first and we will tell you whether it is possible for that area and item.

Cancel before we start making the arrangement and you get a full refund. Once it is being made, the flowers cannot be reused, so we cannot cancel or refund.

How do I know the flowers were delivered?

After delivery, Korea Flower Express sends you a photo of the arrangement your recipient actually received. You do not have to phone anyone in Korea to confirm.

What else should I know before ordering?

Flowers from Korea Flower Express are living things. Depending on the season and what arrives that morning, some flowers may be replaced with others in the same color family. Product photos are styled examples, so colors can look slightly different depending on your screen and lighting. Wrapping, baskets and pots may also be swapped for similar ones depending on supplies.

If a recipient's phone number is wrong or nobody can be reached, delivery may be delayed. Please double-check it before you pay.
